(More customer reviews)We purchased this pylon when the original "hook" that came with the boat loosened and became unusuable.It is made of very heavy, high quality material. Installation was not too difficult, but the screws for the deck plate are not included because either wood screws or machine screws with washers and nuts are required depending on whether you have access under your deck. This is a two person job.One important point that the directions did not make very clear.BE SURE to screw the pylon fully into the deck plate before marking the mounting holes.This is necessary so that the attachments for the side struts end up in position on each side of the pylon each time you unscrew it and replace it for storage.Do not use this or any pylon to tow inflatables.They are not designed for the stress, especially of the larger ones.Use the beefy transom eyes with a bridle.
